Monel 400 flat is a copper nickel based alloy which possesses great mechanical properties and high tensile and ductile strength. Monel alloy has resistance to corrosive environments and is highly used in seawater applications.

Monel 400 flat offer excellent resistance to hydrochloric & hydrofluoric acids when they are de-aerated. Monel 400 alloy also has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion under sea water application.
Properties
Monel 400 flat show high strength and excellent corrosion resistance in a range of acidic and alkaline environments and it’s especially suitable for reducing conditions and they can also withstand a fire in pure oxygen.

Monel 400 flat can be readily joined by conventional processes and procedures. The welding method used may be Shield Metal arc welding (SMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW).
