Hastelloy C-276 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy with elements of chromium. Hastelloy C276 pipe,
hastelloy C276 seamless tube, and hastelloy C276 seamless pipe material has excellent
corrosion resistant properties and is known for its extensive use with chemical and waste
processing. 

Production Process

Hastelloy C-276 or UNS N10276 are manufactured using processes such as ERW (Electric
Resistance Welded), Seamless and EFW (Electric Fusion Welding) by hastelloy C276 pipe
manufacturers. C276 Hastelloy Pipe and Tubes have different forms such as round, square,
rectangle etc. having specific end as Plain End, Bevel End and Threaded End with nominal
thickness of different schedule ranging from SCH 5 to SCH XXS.

The process through which pipes and tubes can be manufactured include cold pilgering process,
Extrusion process, tube mill Process also Piercing process followed by heat treatment and
mechanical testing.

Fabrication and Heat Treatment

Due to the hastelloy C276 pipe specification, it hardens more readily than most austenitic
stainless steels, and may require several stages of cold work, with intermediate anneals.
INCONEL alloy C-276 is normally annealed at 2100-2150°F (1150-1175°C) and rapidly cooled
such as by water quenching. This process is practiced by various hastelloy C276 pipe suppliers
and hastelloy C276 tube suppliers.

Hastelloy C-276 alloy can be forged, hot-upset and impact extruded. All of the common
methods of welding can be used, although the oxyacetylene and submerged arc processes are
not recommended when the fabricated item is for use in corrosion service.

Hastelloy C-276 is a good choice of alloy if versatility and high resistance to reducing and

Application

Hastelloy also has excellent resistance to phosphoric acid containing solution and has excellent
