- Hastelloy B3 Round Bar
Hastelloy B3 Round Bar
Alloy B-3 Bar is an additional member of the nickel-molybdenum family of alloys with thermal stability greater than that of Hastelloy B-2. It has excellent resistance to pitting, corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. It has excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures.

Alloy B3, in common with most nickel alloys, offers excellent corrosion resistance. Grade B3 bar is particularly useful in chemical processes involving highly corrosive acids at temperatures that would normally produce rapid and catastrophic corrosion.
Properties
The main functionality of Hastelloy B-3 bar is to survive under high-stress, high-temperature applications; the chief benefit of Hastelloy B-3 is its ability to resist hydrochloric acid at all temperatures and concentrations. This alloy also resists other vigorously corrosive agents extremely well.

The improved thermal stability of B-3 bar minimizes the problems associated with fabrication of B-2 alloy components. Hastelloy B-3 has good overall forming and welding characteristics. A low carbon content permits alloy B-3 to be used in the as-welded condition.
